Dr. Alexandra Choy Youatt is a seasoned and passionate educator with an impressive 16 years of experience spanning across various educational levels. Currently serving as an educational leader in a title one school, Dr. Youatt has played a pivotal role in student-centered curriculum development, and inquiry-based instructional strategies. Embarking on a journey started by her dissertation “The Role of the Teacher in Project-based Learning”, Dr Youatt presents “Illuminating PBL Pedagogy, Teachers’ Reflections” in this year’s 2024 AILACTE Annual Meeting and Conferences. Dedicated to staying at the forefront of educational methodologies and practices Dr. Youatt holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary education, a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development. Additionally, as a Cognia Team Member, Dr. Youatt actively contributes to quality assurance and improvement efforts, demonstrating a commitment to advancing educational standards and outcomes. Beyond professional accomplishments, Dr. Youatt is a proud native of Arizona and holds the distinction of being a first-generation college graduate, embodying resilience, and determination. In the realm of personal life, Dr. Youatt is a married mother of twins, juggling the demands of a successful career with the joys and responsibilities of family life. The goal of this session is to further the discussion on the liminal spaces of learning which exist in the exchanges between the CTE teacher and student. In the liminal spaces of learning which exist in the exchanges between teacher and student, CTE teachers forge authentic learning experiences linked to higher levels of student achievement. Expanding upon this notion further highlights the significant impacts CTE teachers make in learning, providing the CTE community with an opportunity to contribute a collective best practice, empowering CTE teachers and promoting interdisciplinary studies.
