Since Arizona’s Career Technical Education Districts were created, workforce needs have changed, with 65% of jobs now requiring post-secondary education or training. But just 46% of all Arizonans 25 to 64 have an associate degree or professional certification. At the same time, the state’s foster care youth face an uncertain future. EVIT successfully lobbied the Legislature to allow CTEDs to offer associate degrees and secured $10 million in state funding to build a foster youth residential center. EVIT leaders will share how CTE should evolve to better meet the needs of Arizona’s students.
