Dr. Teresa Leyba Ruiz has served students in K-12 and Higher Education for over 30 years. Her perspective as a first-generation Latina college student from South Phoenix to a Mathematics Faculty and community college president influence her leadership, advocacy, and priorities for moving education forward as a top priority for our state and nation. Dr. Ruiz also serves as a Commissioner on President Biden’s Advisory Commission for Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics; a national commission where she can lend her experience as a community college leader.
