Simpson, Jim

President/CEO

Jim is a CPA and was a college professor at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) for 20 years teaching Accounting, Tax, and Computer Information Systems. His favorite accomplishment at SCC was starting a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site at SCC with five of his Income Tax class students. VITA prepares tax returns, free of charge, for low-to-moderate income, elderly, disabled, and ESL taxpayers. That site grew to serving 1,000 clients per year. Upon retirement in 2020, he started a non-profit organization (Masters of Coin) to keep the SCC VITA site alive. Masters of Coin now operates five VITA sites throughout the Scottsdale corridor, preparing over 2,300 returns a year, and generating millions of dollars of refunds for the people who need it most.
