Jon Jeffery has been teaching photography at Mountain View High School in Mesa since 2005. He has been involved with photography education and working in a variety of professional photography areas since the late 1990s. He also taught photography at Northern Arizona University and the Art Institute of Phoenix. He holds a Bachelor of Science in the areas of both Photography and Advertising and a Master of Education in Career and Technical Education (Photo Imaging) from Northern Arizona University. His current personal photography work outside of teaching high school photography students focuses primarily on exhibiting and selling his photo artwork in galleries and shows.

Whether or not you attended the introductory session, “What’s Not Included in the Digital Photography Classroom,” this workshop will introduce practical techniques to help your students master technical standards. Bring your cameras to practice and share these techniques with your students. The session covers hands-on experiences students may encounter outside regular class times. Topics include location lighting for portraits, photographing sports and events, creating promotional posters, and using student photography for CTSO fundraisers.
