Jon Jeffery has been teaching photography at Mountain View High School in Mesa since 2005. He has been involved with photography education and working in a variety of professional photography areas since the late 1990s. He also taught photography at Northern Arizona University and the Art Institute of Phoenix. He holds a Bachelors of Science in the areas of both Photography and Advertising and a Masters of Education in Career and Technical Education (Photo Imaging) from Northern Arizona University. His current personal photography work outside of teaching high school photography students focuses primarily on exhibiting and selling his photo artwork in galleries and shows.

Focus of the presentation will looking at the practical techniques of the hands-on experiences that students in your digital photography may likely get a chance to do on your campus outside of regular class meeting times. Topics included will be lighting for school dance photos, photographing sports and events, making composite promotional posters and banners for social media, and making your student photography work effective as fundraisers for your photo club/CTSO. Participants will use their cameras and practice the skills presented so they are ready to take them back to their schools.
