Backpack journalism is an emerging type of journalism that requires students to be reporter, photographer, and videographer, editor and producer. These days, students need to know how to do it all! No longer can print journalism be separated from broadcast journalism. In this workshop, participants will learn to teach students how to develop a complete news package: preplanning, filming, editing, and writing. We will discuss how to develop a complete news package and how to write a story that goes along with it. We will even discuss how to best use social media to push that story.
