Sessions of 2025 Summer Conference: Dayna Hess

Ms. Hess, Dayna
Curriculum & Instructional Coach
Western Maricopa Education Center
With over 25 years of experience in education and nearly 18 years as an instructional coach, I am deeply committed to helping educators grow and thrive in their practice. Currently, I work at West-MEC, where I have the privilege of learning from and sharing insights with an incredibly talented group of teachers. My passion for teaching was ignited by the exceptional mentors I had early in my career, who pushed me to continuously strive for excellence for the benefit of my students. Outside of work, I live in Glendale, AZ with my husband, two college-aged kids, and Leo the dog—who keeps us on our toes. I believe in the power of collaboration, lifelong learning, and the impact great teaching can have on students' lives.

Every educator faces challenges in the classroom that can be difficult to navigate. In this session, participants will engage in a structured protocol aimed at generating ideas, exploring potential solutions, and gaining new perspectives on addressing persistent teaching concerns that fall within a teacher's locus of control. Participants will also receive guidance on how to implement this strategy in their classrooms, empowering students to provide constructive feedback to their peers. This session is designed to support all levels of educators and programs.
