CTE CNA Instructor

Krista Reiling has been a nurse for 14 years with specialization in behavioral health, WIS, and pediatrics. Beginning in 1997 as a CTE Cosmetology graduate, after 19 years of service she transitioned into nursing. Every opportunity led her into positions of leadership and education which fostered her decision to go back to school and graduate in 2024 with a Masters in Nursing Education. She has served in many roles to include floor nurse, charge nurse, patient educator, associate director, district nurse, and now Nurse Educator. She has influenced nursing education for colleagues and students through development of high quality curriculum, program development and growth, partnership with industry, presenting at the national level for Body Interact simulation techniques, and professional development offerings for district health staff. Her passion for influencing and engaging future healthcare professionals through student centered learning and professional employability skills is reflected daily with the students and staff she mentors.

Transition from teacher led educational method to student led learning encourages engagement and ownership of the learning. The objectives of this session include an introduction to the Flipped Classroom Model, defining the approach and exploring the supporting theories behind it. Participants will examine current evidence on the method, including its benefits and challenges. The session will also present various examples and strategies for implementation. Attendees will engage in a modeled mini-lesson using the method and have the opportunity to participate. The session will conclude with a Q&A.
