Peggy Deal has been a graphic designer for more than 50 years, is a graduate of Indiana University with a BA in fine arts and graphic design, and is the owner of Deal in Design. She transitioned from traditional typesetting and printing technology to embrace the current digital revolution. Recently retired as the Visual Communication program director for the Fredrick D. Kagy Education Award of Excellence-winning program at Scottsdale Community College where she taught Typography, Graphic Design I, II, III and IV, Adobe software applications, Creative Brand Strategy, Design Self Promotion and Digital Prepress, Peggy now sits on the Workforce Development Committee for Print Creative Alliance. She has received several industry awards, including the Z.A. Prust Industry Achievement Award, the Maricopa Community Colleges Adjunct of the Year award, and the Excellence in Service Award from the Printing Industries of Arizona/New Mexico. She co-authored the Graphic Communications Digital Design and Print Essentials textbook by G-W Publishers, judges SkillsUSA at the regional and state levels, sits on CTE advisory committees around the state and speaks in classrooms and conferences. Peggy is dedicated to ensuring the next generation of industry specialists are prepared, engaged and employed through her teaching and volunteer efforts.
