Ingold, Timothy

Film/TV Teacher

Timothy Ingold is the Film/TV teacher at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Video Production and spent three years working as a contractor on Fort Huachuca, providing video production support for the Army’s unmanned aircraft training regiment. In 2014 Timothy started teaching Film/TV at Buena. In 2022, he earned his MFA in Digital Cinema to enable his high school students to earn college credit from his class. While he still enjoys producing content, Timothy’s true passion is helping students grow and develop into the best versions of themselves. He strives to be a catalyst in their lives, pushing them forward toward success in any field they choose. Inspired by Dr. Anthony Muhammad’s philosophy, he believes students should never be given the option to fail—it’s the teacher’s job to create an environment where learning is inevitable, or as he puts it, to “trick them into learning.” For over a decade, Timothy has shared his love of filmmaking with students, inspiring them to explore their creativity and prepare for future success.

Broadcast journalism education has declined over the years, but teaching students how to create strong news packages equips them with the skills needed for professional work. Instead of a step-by-step approach, I use a method that throws students into the deep end, getting them to report with minimal upfront instruction. In this session, you'll experience this fast-tracked approach to teaching News Package Production firsthand. (ADE Sponsored)

Giving a presentation is a fundamental skill in most industries. As teachers, we present information to our students regularly - and many of us require our students to present as well. Maybe you take pride in your slideshows, but are they as effective as you think? This session will challenge the way you approach slideshow presentations while also equipping you with tools to help your students deliver more impactful presentations. (ADE Sponsored)
