Lead Trainer

Jay Johnson has served as the Post School Outcomes Education Program Specialist, Recruitment and Retention Specialist, and Monitor and Support Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education. He holds degrees in elementary education, special education, and educational leadership. Jay completed his Masters and undergrad degrees at Northern Arizona University. His interests lie in the area of student engagement, teacher recruitment and retention, and best practices to support students in the K-12 system and after high school. In recent years, he has focused on teacher recruitment and retention, transition planning, collaboration, and data driven decision making. He has collaborated actively with several educational agencies in Arizona and school districts around the state. Jay is the President of Arizona Council of Exceptional Children, Board Member of Treasures 4 Teachers of Tucson, and member of CEEDAR Arizona Project.
