Sessions of 2025 Summer Conference: William McDonald

Mr. McDonald, William
CTE Criminal Justice Instructor
With over two decades of experience in law enforcement and digital forensics, I bring a wealth of knowledge and real-world expertise to the classroom. I spent 26 years with the Chandler Police Department, where I served as a Detective and Computer Forensic Examiner for nearly 22 years. In this role, I conducted forensic examinations on digital evidence related to a wide range of criminal investigations, including financial crimes, property crimes, robbery, sex crimes, and homicide. My expertise extended to sensitive cases involving crimes against children, including child pornography investigations and child luring offenses. Through certifications such as Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), and Cellebrite Mobile Device Forensics, I developed specialized skills in extracting and analyzing digital evidence critical to modern criminal investigations. Transitioning to education, I have just completed my first year as a Criminal Justice instructor at Williams Field High School, where I integrate my professional experience into engaging coursework. My teaching emphasizes practical application, forensic technology, and investigative techniques to prepare students for careers in law enforcement and criminal justice. With a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies from Arizona State University, I combine academic excellence with hands-on expertise to inspire the next generation of criminal justice professionals.
