Trauma-informed instruction for CTE students means creating a safe and supportive learning environment by recognizing potential traumatic experiences students may have faced, actively addressing triggers, and incorporating strategies that promote emotional regulation and resilience, while still focusing on the health sciences technical skills of the CTE curriculum; this can include things like providing clear expectations, offering choice and agency in learning activities, utilizing positive reinforcement, and fostering open communication with students to understand their needs and challenges.
