Sessions of 2025 Summer Conference: Rita Rodriguez

Rodriguez, Rita
Homeless Education Program Coordinator
I have the privilege of serving this great State as the Homeless Education Program Coordinator. Homelessness is extremely near to my heart because I am the child of a homeless individual. This labor of love is all to honor the life of my Dad who experienced homelessness for the majority of his lifetime. I have been serving in the Education field for over 25 years. And my experience as a McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison for over a decade allows me to bring expertise to support the State of Arizona. Honored to have the prestigious title of 2020 National McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison of the Year, the 2019 Arizona Liaison of the Year 2019 (Arizona Housing Coalition) and 2019 Community Partner of the Year. As the Homeless Education Program Coordinator, I carry the responsibility of providing extensive and comprehensive information through professional learning, technical assistance, and program development. The primary focus of my work includes supporting all stakeholders in the State to ensure that children and youth experiencing homelessness are identified, to ensure positive comparable academic outcomes for children and youth experiencing homelessness through implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
