Skylie Estep is a dynamic HR leader with over 15 years of experience driving workforce strategy in the global mining industry. As Human Resources Director for North America at South32, she leads talent, culture, and workforce development efforts across major projects - including the transformative Hermosa Project in Santa Cruz County, AZ. Skylie is a champion for building inclusive, local talent pipelines, spearheading initiatives that connect industry needs with community opportunity. She’s a 2023 Southern Arizona Workforce Leadership Academy fellow, board member for the Sant Cruz County WIOA Local Workforce Development Board and serves as President of Women in Mining Arizona where she advocates for underrepresented groups and drives programs to strengthen career pathways into mining. Known for blending strategic insight with grassroots impact, Skylie is deeply committed to economic mobility, sustainable workforce ecosystems, and building the next generation of skilled professionals who reflect the communities where mining operates.
