Scott Bell has been an educator for 30+ years in middle and high school classrooms at Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis, Mo. He has a master's degree in both Educational Technology and Social Science. His hands-on approach to classroom work is a successful pathway for student engagement and success. Many of Scott's students have used skills from his teaching to be successful in postsecondary education and careers. In recent years, video journalism and podcasting have been a central focus in lesson plans to provide a cross-curricular learning experience.

Podcasts in the K-12 classroom can help students take their educational journey to the next level. This educational podcast session introduces participants to the art and science of podcasting as a powerful learning and communication tool. Participants will explore how podcasts can be used to share knowledge, tell meaningful stories, reinforce topics and engage diverse audiences. The workshop covers the fundamentals of podcast planning, software and equipment, scripting, recording, and basic editing, while emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of how to create an educational podcast from concept to publication.
