CTE students don’t just need skills. They need the confidence to walk up, introduce themselves, and start the conversation that leads to internships, apprenticeships, and job offers. In this high-energy, hands-on session, educators will learn how to teach small talk and networking as practical workplace tools students can use at job fairs, interviews, and work-based learning experiences. Using Robyn Austin’s Small Talk: Ready, Set, Go framework, participants will practice quick conversation scripts, low-pressure role-play rotations, and “real employer moment” scenarios that help students feel prepared. Attendees leave with activities that raise students' confidence.
