John is a Career and Technical Education educator with 11 years teaching CTE and 7 years teaching English. As a CTE teacher, he has built two successful programs, including the first SkillsUSA National Models of Excellence chapter. Through SkillsUSA he has coached students to earn medals at the regional, state, and national levels. He has also guided student leaders to serve as officers at the regional, state, and national level. John is passionate about expanding access to meaningful, student-preferred CTE programs and holds a bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University and master’s degrees from Gonzaga University and Northern Arizona University.

This interactive session is focused on Middle School eCTE (Early Career and Technical Education) Career Exploration. Career exploration programs can build robust pathways into high school and beyond. Educators will discover curricular resources that are engaging, flexible, and student-centered. Participants will create a curriculum map and lesson ideas for the new school year.
