Sessions of 2026 Connection Conference: Casey Hinde
Hinde, Casey
Yearbook Representative
Casey Hinde is an educator, journalist, and industry partner who brings a passion for storytelling and student voice to everything she does. She taught at the high school level for 15 years, beginning her career in education while actively pursuing journalism. During that time, she advised TheRIOT Yearbook at Shadow Ridge High School in Surprise, Arizona, building the program from the ground up on a small campus and growing it into a nationally recognized publication. Along the way, she fostered a lasting love for journalism in countless students. For the past five years, Casey has worked with Jostens, partnering with schools across the Valley to support and strengthen journalism education. She collaborates with advisers and administrators to elevate yearbook and media programs while helping students develop real-world skills in storytelling, leadership, and communication. Casey also teaches and presents at professional development events, including Jostens Adviser University and the Jostens National Yearbook Workshop, where she shares best practices and a deep belief in the power of student media. Casey is an Arizona State University alumna, earning her bachelor’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and her master’s degree from the College of Teacher Education and Leadership. Creative. Ethical. Communicative. Analytical. These are just a few of the qualities Casey works to instill in the students and educators she serves. She is driven to inspire the next generation of journalists to think critically, tell meaningful stories, and make an impact on the world around them.
