Students with disabilities do not need lowered expectations—they need access, belief, and different pathways to reach the same standards. This session challenges deficit-based thinking and explores how educators can maintain rigor while creating supportive, inclusive classrooms. Led by a Communication Media Technologies CTE educator with hearing loss, the presentation blends personal experience with practical strategies for building systems that support diverse learners. Attendees will examine how to design instruction, routines, and projects that honor student strengths, promote independence, and reduce overwhelm for both students and teachers. Participants will leave with a renewed mindset and concrete tools to ensure all students are seen for their ability, not their disability.
