Certified Athletic Trainer, Adjunct Faculty

Derick Lehman is a dedicated educator, healthcare professional, and leader with over a decade of experience in teaching and clinical practice. With a robust academic foundation, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, a Master of Business Administration specializing in Health Care Administration, and are currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As a high school teacher at Copper Canyon High School since 2015, Derick has designed and taught innovative courses in sports medicine, medical assisting, and career and technical education, inspiring countless students to pursue careers in healthcare. In higher education, he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Rio Salado Community College, Grand Canyon University and Northern Arizona University, teaching a wide range of courses from Injury Evaluation and First Aid to Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Interventions. Recognized for their exceptional teaching, Derick was honored with the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award for Health Sciences at Rio Salado College in 2023-2024. This award reflects his excellence in course development, innovative teaching practices, and commitment to student success. Beyond the classroom, Derick is a Certified Athletic Trainer, educator, and mentor. He is passionate about empowering future professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in healthcare and education.
