Mr. Yazzie, Jon

CTE Coordinator
N.A.T.I.V.E. Vocational District

Jon began his passion for teaching in the US Navy Instructor training program at the Naval Education and Training Center in Virginia. After honorable discharge, he continued his education at the University of New Mexico, in Gallup NM. Taking a break from his educational journey, Jon spent some time in the industry as a high-pressure vessel welder. This laid the foundation for becoming a Certified Welding Inspector, an OSHA 10/30 instructor, and a small business owner. His knowledge of Federal, State and Tribal Occupational Safety and Health programs help classroom instructors mitigate safety and management issues in the classroom and lab setting. Jon taught welding at Tuba City High School, adjunct with Coconino Community College and currently is the CTE Coordinator at N.A.T.I.V.E. CTED in Kayenta, AZ. If Jon isn’t in the office, you can probably catch him adventuring in the backcountry via bicycle, pack raft or flyfishing.
