Mrs. Babyar, Marilynn

Director of Student Services
West-MEC

Marilynn Babyar currently serves as the Director of Student Services for West-MEC. Marilynn oversees Recruitment, Career Services, School Counseling, Exceptional Student Services and Post-Secondary Partnerships. In her position, she is responsible for leading application and registration for incoming students and Certification Attainment for all students in 28 different career training programs. Following the ASCA Model, she coordinates four central campus counselors comprehensive programs including oversight of all accommodations and modifications for students with IEP's and 504's. Working with Universities and Community Colleges as part of Post Secondary Partnerships, students earn Dual Enrollment. Working with ten Member Districts and 48 High Schools plus Charter, Private and Homeschools students, Marilynn ensures that students are on their desired pathway to College and Career Readiness. She earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University in Romeoville Illinois. She is currently certified as a Professional School Counselor and is a member of the American School Counseling Association and the Association of Career and Technical Education. Marilynn has completed the ACTEAZ Fellowship program.
