Ms. Morrison, Amy

CTE Instructor
Dysart Unified School District

Amy Morrison is a recovering English teacher turned graphic design educator currently in her 27th year of teaching. After spending a decade working in industry, she began her teaching career at Conifer High School in Colorado before relocating to Arizona in 2008, where she now teaches at Willow Canyon High School in Surprise. Amy’s passion for helping students become responsible, engaged, and civic-minded members of their communities grew out of her work as a journalism adviser. She is also actively involved in SkillsUSA, supporting students as they develop professional, technical, and leadership skills. She holds a B.A. in Theatre with an emphasis in costuming from the University of Colorado Boulder, completed master’s coursework in Liberal Studies with a focus on literacy at the University of Denver, and earned an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Grand Canyon University. Amy believes deeply in the potential of every student and is known for designing learning experiences that challenge, empower, and inspire—so much so that her students often accuse her of “tricking them into being successful.”
