Veterinary Science Instructor

Hailey graduated in 2009 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences (BS) and has been in the veterinary field for 18 years. Hailey has worked as a kennel assistant, receptionist, veterinary assistant and technician receiving her Certified Veterinary Technician certification in 2011. Hailey has experience in general practice, emergency, internal medicine and taught two years post-secondary education before starting the veterinary assistant program at West-MEC in 2014. Hailey is the program head for the West-MEC veterinary science program, member of the state HOSA Advisory Board and President for the Arizona Health Careers Education Association, AZHCEA. Hailey was recognized in 2018 as the New Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year by the Association for Career Technical Education of Arizona (ACTEAZ). Hailey has an Australian Cattle Dog Mix named Marshall, a Lynx Point Siamese named Simon and a Tabby Polydactyl cat named Wallace. In her free time Hailey enjoys traveling, volunteering locally through St. Mary’s Food Bank, Feed My Starving Children and the non-profit organization REACT. Hailey recently started her own non-profit called SPOT, Saving Pets One at a Time, focusing on volunteering internationally, taking West-MEC graduates to Central America to work with several animal rescues and organizations.

This session will provide tips and tricks to up your study guide game and give students ownership of their study guide while building test taking strategies at the same time.
