Elena Gallego Rascon has been an educator of +25 years. She currently serves as the program specialist for Business and Marketing Education at the Arizona Department of Education, CTE Department and is the past program specialist for Communications Media Technologies. In the administration realm, Elena has served as a CTE Director, district CTE Curriculum Coach, program lead, facilitator and CTE Department chair. She currently teaches Computer Information Technology and Business courses at Phoenix College. In past years she also taught high school students in the areas of Business and Marketing Education, Communications Media Technologies, and Software and App Design among other assignments. In Elena’s vast experience she also served as the President of the Arizona Business Educators Association, named the CTSO Educator of the Year and Teacher of the Year. As a Business and Industry leader she held her Real Estate Salesperson License, was co-owner and partner of an Arizona real estate corporation, where she was VP of education, taught real estate courses, worked with other real estate professions while very involved with the real estate development company. Elena has also participated as state and national workshop presenter among other CTE conference engagements. Throughout her tenure she had students hold Arizona FBLA State Officer positions, competed and place at state and national competitions, mentored many Business and Marketing educators throughout her education career, focusing on successful student teaching engagement practices and bringing industry partners into CTE. She is excited to build connections with industry stakeholders that provide at arm’s reach resources for CTE teachers and students helping build tomorrow’s prepared workforce.
