New yearbook advisers often overextend themselves by trying to oversee every task, solve every problem and catch every mistake. While well-intentioned, this approach quickly becomes unsustainable. In this session, a 20+ year yearbook adviser shares what they wish they had known early on about streamlining their role. The focus is on adviser-level strategies that reduce friction and decision fatigue, including how to set clear systems, simplify workflows, and structure responsibility so the book continues moving forward without constant adviser intervention. Attendees will leave with practical ideas for clarifying their role, tightening processes and building a yearbook program that runs more efficiently while still maintaining high standards.
