4650 - Premier Series: CTSO New Advisor Training

Bring a laptop! This course is designed for first, second and third year advisors who want to effectively manage a CTSO. During this course advisors will discuss how to integrate a CTSO into their curriculum, brainstorm fundraising opportunities, share strategies for conducting awards recognition functions and explore related legal and ethical considerations. Advisors will also be acquainted with CTSO resources available to them. This is an ADE approved Professional Development Event. Upon completion of this training and any homework assigned you will earn the equivalent of ADE college credit.

4652 - Premier Series: Establishing a Firm Foundation for Your CTSOs

In this mini-session participants will review the requirements to maintain a CTSO in good standing, differentiate between a CTSO Constitution and Bylaws, and discuss the legal and ethical considerations of being an advisor and traveling with students. Participants who participate in 4 out of the 5 courses and who complete the follow-up assignments will have the opportunity to earn 15 CEU hours approved by ADE to be used for their standard CTE certificate or for recertification hours. This session is for teachers that already have established a chapter (been an advisor at least 3 years), and need some additional help.

In this mini-session participant will discuss strategies and opportunities to improve public relations in your school and community to grow your CTSO program. Participants will discuss the process for planning, conducting, and holding a successful event and analyze the use of social media for promotional purposes. Participants who participate in 4 out of the 5 courses and who complete the follow-up assignments will have the opportunity to earn 15 CEU hours approved by ADE to be used for their standard CTE certificate or for recertification hours. This session is for teachers that already have established a chapter (been an advisor at least 3 years) and need some additional help.
