Sessions of 2025 Summer Conference: Tracey Celaya

Ms. Celaya, Tracey
CTE Director
Florence Unified School District No. 1
Tracey Celaya is the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Director for Florence Unified. She has 30 years experience in education, 26 of which have been in the Florence District. Tracey started as the business teacher at FHS; hired when they only had Florence High School, Florence Elementary, and Florence Junior High in their District. At that time, the FHS CTE Department had two programs: Agriculture Science and Business, which she was hired to start. After two years of working as a business teacher, she was asked to become the CTE Director, while still teaching business classes and being the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Adviser. Tracey stopped teaching business classes in 2008, and now exclusively works as the CTE Director. Since she was originally hired, her district has grown and so has her CTE Department. They now offer numerous and varied CTE programs at Poston Butte, San Tan Foothills, and Florence High School. She has partnerships with CAVIT (Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology) and Central Arizona College (CAC) where their FUSD CAC students earn dual enrollment college credit. Tracey's education includes an Associate of Arts for Transfer from Yavapai College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Master’s Degree in Career & Technical Education, also from NAU. She has three grown children, all who graduated from Florence High School, and five grandchildren; three of which are in Florence District Schools. Tracey has been married for 41 years, marrying her high school sweetheart who also graduated from FHS. Tracey is proud of her role in growing FUSD’s CTE Department. It is her goal to keep expanding our Career & Technical Program offerings to include even more students in CTE.
