Patrick is a career educator dedicated to serving his community and country as a Professional Development Specialist for West-MEC and Non-Commissioned Officer in the Arizona Air National Guard. He is passionate about guiding, leading, mentoring, and inspiring individuals and teams who want to learn, grow and take their respective crafts, career, or project to the next level. Patrick graduated from Arizona State University (Go Devils!!!) in 2007 and completed his graduate studies in Educational Technology through Northern Arizona University in 2016. He has served as a middle grades science teacher in the Pendergast Elementary School District and as a Coding Instructor for West-MEC. Patrick is also an independent facilitator of Love and Logic curricula, a set of tools and techniques that helps adults and teachers achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their students and children. He is also an associate instructor for undergraduate and graduate-level educational technology programs for ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College.

This course is an introduction to the design and use of CTE curriculum. In this highly engaging course teachers will focus on the design and delivery of relevant and engaging lessons. Special emphasis is placed on active participation strategies, a strong introduction to each lesson, clear and appropriate objective(s), a variety of ways to meet the objective(s), and closure to assess learning. These strategies will be woven across the entire workshop. All participants whose districts are members of the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium and who complete both days of this workshop will receive password-protected access to the Curriculum Connection with its 3500+ bank of outstanding lesson plans for more than 20 CTE programs written by Arizona CTE teachers.
