One of the three original Apple-certified consultants nationally, Rick has been a part of the desktop publishing since its inception, in 1984. He trains Design and Photography Superstars. His three created courses helped earn the Scottsdale Community College Graphic Design team the Frederick D. Kagy International Award for Excellence. Rick co-created the standards for the State of Arizona’s K-12 educational system for Graphic Arts. He “teaches the teachers” how to better instruct our future design stars using those standards. He has been a copywriter, artist, illustrator, ad agency creative director, television sales rep, marketing director, print salesman, consultant, trainer, and author. He has consulted, written for, and trained sales professionals, artists, advertising agencies, magazine publishers, and Fortune 500 companies, including Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Rapp Worldwide, AT&T, Major League Baseball, Grand Canyon University, and Skyworks. He works as a consultant and lecturer and is a Professor at the Bryan Peterson School of Photography. He taught for 12 years as an Adjunct Professor at Scottsdale Community College: Digital Photography, Digital Color Theory, Intro to and Advanced Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator. He is respected for his practical approach, impartial opinions, and his effective, humorous way of delivering knowledge in plain English.
