Joel Wakefield has his Master's in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He has served in public education for over 30 years as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal. He completed the National Education Policy Fellowship Program hosted through the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics. He spent over 20 years as an Athletic Trainer for high schools and up through professional baseball and football. He serves as the Director of Professional Development and Strategic Planning at West-MEC. He is passionate about international education, spending time traveling to South America to provide training for teachers, as well as hosting many foreign students and teachers.

In this course, teachers will enhance classroom management skills by developing procedures and routines that are perfect for YOUR situation. In this course, we will take a deep look at the philosophy of “Discipline with Dignity” and develop classroom rules and consequences. Participants will be empowered to create an atmosphere which is conducive to learning and high expectations. All of this is based on the belief that excellent classroom management is built on the foundation of well-planned, relevant and engaging lessons.
