Currently Courtney is a Curriculum and Instruction Specialist at West-MEC. As an instructional coach she works closely with teachers in multiple programs in all aspects of teaching and learning. This includes CTSO integration, technology tools, and program documentation. Before coming to West-MEC Courtney taught Early Childhood Education for 5 years along with being a CTE Department Coordinator and Internship Coordinator in the Deer Valley Unified School District. Prior to teaching CTE she worked in higher education and early education holding multiple positions. "After being a brand new teacher from industry, I enjoy working with new teachers to make the transition to the classroom as seamless as possible. I have a passion for CTE and the amazing pathways it creates for all students." In her personal time Courtney enjoys spending time with her two boys and husband watching the Kansas City sports teams (Go Chiefs!) and enjoying the lake.

Create meaningful work-based learning experiences for your students. This course will provide teachers with a variety of models of work-based learning along with the associated forms, agreements, and guidelines. You will select the model that is most appropriate for your situation and create a plan to implement work-based learning as a part of your premier program! Upon successful completion of the course, which includes submission of homework, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.
