Barbara Milner has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education and Care for over 30 years. Her roles have included classroom teacher, childcare center director, and project manager. A consultant since 2022, she’s consulted in statewide professional development programs, coordinated coaching for quality improvement projects and facilitated leadership/team development efforts. Her experience also includes national and international work, including traveling to over twenty Air Force Bases in Japan, Germany, South Korea, Azores Islands and across the United States, providing consulting and professional development support. Her international experience includes working with NAEYC’s Global Engagement Division between 2016 through 2021, to facilitate leadership training and supporting the development of Early Childhood Education Standards, Guidelines and Curriculum Framework in Saudi Arabia. Currently, she is working with Central Arizona college, as the Director of Early Childhood Initiatives.

Helping your students understand the career opportunities, education support, and other resources available for careers ECE industry is a primary goal for ECE CTE educators. This session will showcase newly developed resources, lesson plans, tips, and tools you can use in your classroom to explore ECE careers, apprenticeship opportunities, scholarships, and support available for this workforce. Attendees in this session will leave with access to the Career A Week video platform, lesson plans, assessments, resources, and tools designed specifically for high school ECE CTE programs.
