Hello! My name is Joleese Meadows, I have been a recruiter with Western Maricopa Education Center for over three years now, and I am currently in my second year of the ACTEAZ Fellowship program. I did not grow up with a CTE background, but have since taken on and completed a Certification based program myself to kickstart a career in Holistic health as a Massage Therapist. Over the years in a CTED support services position, I have developed a passion for informing students and families about the extraordinary possibilities that come out of participating in a CTE program, so that they too can find their faster way forward in their desired career paths! Being in a support services position for a CTED with significantly impressive retention rates and post program completion success stories, I feel it is important to share from my perspective how impactful my position as a recruiter can be in supporting these positive numbers. The amount of outreach that happens with my job position is a huge proponent to the overall success. Helping to inform CTED's that don't have their own recruiting department, what can they do with their resources to begin pulling the same interest and retention rates to yield better results for their institutes!
