Deschenes, Steven

Graphic Design Instructor
Tonopah Valley High School

After starting my career as a graphic designer, I found a passion for education and became an elementary art teacher, inspiring young minds with creative visuals. I transitioned into teaching high school CTE graphic design at Tonopah Valley High School. I now empower students to explore graphic design and digital artistry as well as screen printing and production. My diverse skill set extends beyond the classroom, as I also design pop art style robots in my own art style as well as creating work for the City of Goodyear, Surprise, and Buckeye.

This workshop is designed to teach participants how to transform their graphic designs created in Adobe Illustrator into tangible products by applying them onto textiles. Participants will gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in heat transfer and screen-printing techniques, along with insights on how to create a student-based enterprise to generate revenue through custom-designed spirit wear and athletic jerseys. This workshop combines creative design, technical skills, and entrepreneurial knowledge to provide attendees with a holistic experience in textile production.
