Kylie Chamblee, M.A.Ed., is the CTE Family and Consumer Sciences and Education and Training Program Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education. Kylie is a Wisconsin native, a mother of two and has been an educator for 10+ years in various K-12 classrooms and administrative roles. Kylie received a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music from the University of Wisconsin- Parkside (Kenosha, WI) in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Education- Curriculum and Instruction and Administrative Leadership from Alverno College (Milwaukee, WI) in 2020. She has a unique educational and professional background with experiences in the restaurant and catering business (since the age of 9), event planning, a self-taught baker, and a former vocal music educator and secondary culinary arts teacher of five years (including being an FCCLA advisor for three). Prior to joining ADE in 2022, Kylie was the education coordinator for a start-up K-8 charter school here in Phoenix for two years. As someone who understands the importance of cultural responsiveness in education, Kylie strives to share best practices, experiences, and ideas to help educators build strong relationships with their students and peers in any educational environment. She has always been a learner at heart and enjoys acquiring new ideas and concepts that can help make education joyful, engaging and relevant, for ALL students.

In this session, Kylie will share her personal experiences and points-of-view on her educational journey through her multi-cultural lens, from an early elementary student to her current educational role in Arizona. This session walks attendees through their own experience in their educational journey (both personally and professionally) and helps to address how they can build strong relationships with ALL students and peers, while being culturally cognizant of the world and communities in which we all live.
