Mr. Imes, Kevin
State Director, CTE
Arizona Department Of Education
Kevin Imes has spent his entire professional life using his career experiences to help students acquire the necessary skills to become productive members of our society while providing them with the support they need to learn and grow. As the son of a blue-collar family, he knows the importance that employment skills have in determining every facet of one’s life. He received his college education at Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He participated in the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Redesigning the American High School program. He also participated in the AASA National Superintendent Certification Program and continues in his own professional growth that will improve student achievement. He began his career as a science teacher. Over the expanse of 35 years, opened a magnet program, an alternative school, and a comprehensive high school, which in the first year of operation earned the highest grade possible through the Arizona Department of Education. In 2015, he opened the Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma. He also served as the Coordinator of External Affairs at the East Valley Institute of Technology. Through the CK Imes Educational Consulting Group, Kevin served as an educational consultant and Chair for the Arizona Career and Technical Education District Superintendent's Consortium.
