Kevin Peck is the Dean of Business, Applied Computer Science, Industrial Technology Education (ITE), and Prison Programs at Eastern Arizona College. He plays a pivotal role in workforce development efforts across Southeastern Arizona. Kevin currently serves as the Vice-President/President-Elect of the Arizona Occupational Advisory Council (AOAC), collaborating with community college workforce development professionals statewide to promote occupational education and address workforce challenges in Arizona. A lifelong Arizonian, Kevin was raised in northeastern Arizona and holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Western New Mexico University. Before his current role, he was the Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Eastern Arizona College, where he supported small businesses across a three-county area and participated in various economic development organizations. With a background as a business owner, business development and economic development professional, Kevin is dedicated to developing a robust workforce throughout Arizona. He focuses on strengthening partnerships with stakeholders and industries and fostering strong, cohesive relationships within the Arizona community college system.

This session, designed primarily for community college administrators but open to all who want to know more, will be a behind the scenes look at the process involved in starting a new baccalaureate degree program, from community/advisory committee input, feasibility study, curriculum development, internal approvals (curriculum committees, governing boards) and then on to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and ADE approval. This presentation will also cover elements of change management necessary for HLC approval and a successful launch.
