With 16 years invested in the Agua Fria High School District, Nate has been instrumental in shaping student success and fostering innovative learning environments. Now at the forefront of academy transformation efforts in the Southwest Valley, he leads initiatives to align educational pathways with career and technical opportunities, preparing students for a dynamic future in college and career fields. Nate’s passion reflects a commitment to empowering students and strengthening community partnerships across the region.

In this presentation, we will discuss the impact that a connected community can have on creating a positive school experience for students. We will discuss different ways to engage with community partners and introduce strategies for developing "two-way" partnerships. A critical element of the Academies of the Southwest Valley is the inclusion of the community within our schools. During this session, we will also review the AFHSD Powerful Partnership plan that was co-developed with Ford Next Generation Learning.
