Sessions of 2026 Connection Conference: Craig Bal
Mr. Bal, Craig
Agriculture Teacher
Tanque Verde Unified School District
Craig Bal is a dedicated educator, rancher, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran whose diverse experiences shape his work in agriculture and career education. He served in the Marine Corps from 2006 to 2011, completing deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan before transitioning to civilian life, where he worked in the oil fields and purchased his first ranch in Oklahoma. After moving to Arizona, he worked as a cowboy on the Menges Ranch while beginning his college career, eventually earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Arizona and later pursuing a Ph.D. at Liberty University. Craig and his family now own and operate a ranch in Benson, Arizona, raising livestock and selling meat directly to local customers. Following his graduation, he taught construction at JTED for four years and has spent the past four years teaching Agriculture and Precision Manufacturing at Tanque Verde High School, where his students have earned state championships in both SkillsUSA and FFA for four consecutive years.
