Charles Wacker is a graduate of the Tucson Unified School District and Santa Rita High School who went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Propulsion Engineering Laboratory Technician. He holds associate degrees in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming, and has professional experience as a survey crew member for the City of Tucson. With 14 years in Quality Assurance and Quality Control across multiple companies, he now serves as a full-time faculty member in the Machining Program at Pima Community College. He is especially passionate about metrology and is dedicated to both sharing his expertise and continuing to learn from others.

This session will cover the basics of measurement and the application of quality standards used in Precision Machining. The session will include information on measurement standards, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and various hand tools used to verify part conformance. This session is designed for individuals with little to no knowledge of these topics, as well as those with some knowledge who wish to learn more or have questions about the subject. An assortment of hand inspection tools will be available for individuals to use and become more familiar with.
